Calling all experienced Cooks for exiting new opportunity within a Cafe
Are you looking for 30 hours per week with £18,720 a year in a permanent opportunity in a busy but relaxed, fast-paced, fun and energetic environment?

Wise Employment are currently recruiting for a Cook for a permanent role based within a reputable Plymouth City Centre Cafe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

? Preparing high quality meals for customers from the menu and ensuring food is served in good time and well-presented.
? Helping to manage the kitchen staff, motivating and inspiring them to prepare, cook and serve high quality food
? Working alongside the Centre Manager and Shift Lead to ensure good working relationships are maintained between kitchen and waiting staff, within the cafe
? Make adjustments to meals to accommodate customer dietary needs, such as allergies or specific diet concerns.
? Adhering to Food Safety Standards, maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the kitchen at all times – we expect to maintain a 5* Hygiene rating at all times
? Keeping accurate records, including food hygiene records according to regulators guidance.
? Supporting and training young people and Volunteers in kitchen-based work, encouraging them to gain skills and work-based qualifications to improve their employability
? Developing supplier networks and ensure a good reputation for using high quality, locally sourced ingredients
? Monitor and purchase food and supplies
? Any other duties proportionate with the role as required by management.

To be successful in this role your essential skills would be:

? A proven track record of working as a chef in a quality catering environment
? A relevant industry recognised qualification and certificates
? Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
? Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
? Ability to adapt to change and stay calm under pressure
? Ability to manage a commercial kitchen

It would be desirable for you to have:

? 3-years recent relevant experience
? Broad knowledge of different types of foods and their preparations.

? Passionate about food
? Ability to work in a team.
? Good communication, organisational and time management skills
