Outstanding Kickstart Placement for a Lover of Horses!

We have an outstanding opportunity to work at  Suddene Park Farm which boasts 30 acres of beautiful countryside and is a well- established high quality Livery Yard that also offers coaching and private lessons, horse development and foundation work, rest, recovery and injury rehabilitation.

This role gives you the opportunity to learn, over the next 6 months, all aspects of running a well-established equestrian business from horse welfare, facilities, to the office administration and marketing the business through social media.  It could also lead to permanent work!

The responsibilities will include:

Office & Marketing:

Contributing to the business administration (e.g. organising clinics/monthly record of activities/input to risk register & safety aspects). Research, emails, marketing, social media etc. and may have the opportunity to write articles and place on the website , Facebook, Instagram and other media.

Day to day care of horses and ponies, this will include

Horses mucking out, watering, feeding, grooming, tack care, yard sweeping, rugging and leading horses to/from the field and checking general well-being. 

Contributing to Paddock maintenance (including weed control, poo picking, fence management).

Customer Care

Liaising with clients to provide the support they request in a cheerful, professional manner.

Dealing with suppliers and other visitors to the yard in an appropriate manner.

Facilities:

Working on the general upkeep of the yard and surrounds, depending on the time of year (e.g. painting stables; general cleaning of common areas, including bathroom; grass mowing; weed management etc).

This role entails working both outside and inside!

To be the successful applicant, for this role you will require

  • A good standard of Education including English and Maths
  • Confident around horses
  • Understanding of basic H&S
  • Physically fit as will be carrying weights & painting etc.
  • Reliable, timely, with commons sense and initiative
  • Ideally have a good keyboard skill and keen to get involved
  • Be able to get to Suddene Park Farm, Marlborough,  daily as difficult by public transport so car will be essential
