Job Description

Wise Employment are now recruiting for a Finance Assistant. You will be working for a company that has seen impressive growth and expansion within the past twenty years. They are a highly reputable, innovative company based in the Plymouth area and are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate.

What you will be doing:

Providing overall support to the accounts department

Duties

  • Aged creditor reviews
  • Approving invoices for payment.
  • Assigning invoices to GRN
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Checking overhead expense codes and correcting any mis postings.
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing.
  • Preparing and posting of journals and vat journals
  • Liaising with internal and external colleagues to resolve outstanding disputes.
  • Covering other adhoc duties when required.
  • Day to day running of new data capture software.
  • Analyzing P&L costs & variances against budget

Requirements

  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial qualification (AAT or equivalent) desirable
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team, adhering to regular deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate with intermediate / advanced Excel skills 

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.45-17.30.

This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, so initially weekly pay and online payslips.
