We have an outstanding opportunity for an Immunoassay Scientist to join a rapidly expanding nich science Group of companies that sell within the proteins/reagents and diagnostics markets. The products are sold to laboratories, research establishments and universities with a global reach of over 53 counties to date. Salary up to £60,000pa depending on experience.
We are currently seeking an experienced Immunoassay Development Scientist who can assist in the research, development, production and commercialisation of new immunoassay to expand our clients Biological portfolio. The successful candidate is expected to be involved in a wide range of projects from concept design, process validation and QC release.
Experience in a commercial setting is desired, with the successful candidate expected to ensure the ongoing development of a range of immunoassay's in line with business needs, nurturing relationships with existing and emerging stakeholders. Building a pipeline of new immunoassay-based products is key to the success of this role and the aims of the Company.
The successful candidate will spend time in Guildford and Reading with the Biological immunoassay development team to understand and develop the current business operation. Following a successful handover of knowledge and practical experience, it is expected the immunoassay development team will be based at state of the art facilities located in Reading. There the successful candidate will be expected to manage immunoassay and diagnostics research and development across the UK group.
Other duties expected, but are not limited to, maintenance of the ISO:9001 quality system, managing people and resources and assisting in the running of a busy laboratory (i.e. purchasing, maintenance of equipment, general upkeep of the laboratory, organising sample collection and dispatch etc.). Some evening/weekend work is expected in line with the business needs.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a BSc degree (or equivalent) in a relevant biological science. A PhD is desirable but not essential. Commercial experience in immunoassay and diagnostics development is strongly desirable. Although we are looking for a team player, you will be highly motivated, a fast learner, a self-starter and able to work independently. Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are required to ensure success in liaising with a diverse customer base and working to strict client-driven deadlines.
