Are you an Outstanding Marketing Manager?!

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Marketing Manager with a strong digital bias.

Working for a rapidly expanding Company located near Newton Abbott, the role requires a professional with extensive knowledge of managing mail order and e commerce. One of the first projects is to support the migration of the current website to a new state of the art platform.

This position will be demanding and calls for a strong marketing professional who will be able to develop the company’s marketing strategy and support the expansion programme with excellent promotion of the Company brand and values and utilise their creative flair to come up with new strategies and marketing campaigns that will not only attract new customers but retain them.

The successful candidate will take over a small team of 3. However, substantial growth is expected over the next 2 years so your leadership and ability to motivate and manage a team will be essential. 

This is a senior role and will be reporting directly to the Managing Director so total accountability for the marketing strategy, implementation and results will be yours!

You will need the following skills and experience to be successful in this position:

  • Degree in Marketing or equivalent
  • On line retail expertise ideally from a book selling or publishing environment
  • Strong B2C digital and offline marketing expertise within the e commerce community
  • Excellent design and literacy skills
  • Strong creativity and imagination proven in your memorable long term and flash campaigns
  • Excellent design and literacy ability
  • A proven track record in B2C digital and offline marketing experience
  • Extensive knowledge and hands on experience of social media marketing trends as well as SEO, Google Analytcs and Adwords
  • Strong planning and organisational ability

The day to day responsibilities will include the overseeing and coordination of all areas of the B2C marketing

  • Ensuring the Company’s brand and values are promoted and integrated into all of the marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Development of the Company’s online presence regarding content and PPC and SEO
  • Supporting IT with the brand new website and creation of engaging content
  • Write and publish content for digital and social media platforms, coordinating with email and newsletter campaigns.
  • Creation of innovative strategies
  • Working closely with the MD, Editorial Consultant, Sales and Design to develop strategies and commission design and copywriting work
  • Manage and develop offline marketing across print inserts, list rentals and swaps.
  • Carry out research and report on IT Trends and development
  • Research customer behaviour using BI to increase AOV’s and RFM scores
  • Managing the existing marketing team and planned growth
  • Other ad hoc work

Skills and Experience:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent marketing qualification
  • Experience of working within bookselling/publishing an advantage
  • Significant B2C digital and offline marketing experience within the e-commerce industry
  • Excellent design and literacy skills
  • Demonstrable ability to create imaginative and memorable long term and flash campaigns
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of current social media marketing trends, as well of SEO, Google Analytics, Adwords etc
  • Proven ability to identify and exploit short term opportunity
  • Strong planning and organisational experience
  • Able to work under pressure and to adhere to deadlines
  • Robust communication and interpersonal skills
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working at marketing manager level
  • Experience of departmental budget and staff management, including recruitment

Salary range £35k to £45k depending on experience
