Job Description

Wise Employment are currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer / Category Manager for one of the UK's fastest growing retailers based in the Plymouth area. This will be to join a passionate and fast-paced buying team to support the buyer and assist in management of the buying team. 

Duties:

You will support the Buyer with various ongoing projects and build and develop ranges, in order to drive sales, profitability and also market share.

You will be required to have a creative input within the department, working closely with design in order to shape product innovation.

You will need to monitor market trends, competitor activities, supplier product innovation and also regularly analyse sales in order to suggest areas for improvement.

You will be responsible for maximising the delivery of the budgeted financial KPIS such as stock, margin and sales.  This will also require you to monitor and analyse sales figures, stock and also tracking orders.

You will be managing a team of 5 or less, ensuring their work is kept on track so previous management experience is required.

You will develop and maintain supplier relationships within the UK, Far East and Europe.

Skills required:
You will have previous buying experience in a retail environment. This is a position that requires a candidate to demonstrate previous commercial experience and you will need to be committed and confident with choosing and buying products.

You must have strong decision making skills and an impressive eye for detail. Above all, a desire to work hard and progress within a growing business is what we are really looking for.  Strong analytical skills and Microsoft Office experience including Excel is paramount.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 845am until 530pm and offers a competitive rate of pay.

In return, this role will offer the opportunity to work in a modern office, weekly pay, emailed payslips and holiday pay for the first 12 weeks then if successful, you will move over to a permanent role.
