An Outstanding Opportunity for an Outstanding Customer Services Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Customer Services Manager who can manage the day to day operations of the Catalogue and Customer Services Departments.

In difficult times this Company is expanding and sells its products by mail order and ecommerce.

This role will be responsible for leading two very different teams and overseeing the running and growth of both departments.  You will be creative and always look at the best solutions in order to maximise sales and ensure long term business growth.

This role is seeking a very special individual who offers:


  • Degree level education (or equivalent) in English, Arts or Humanities
  • Experienced in people management within a customer focused environment ideally along with production rather than call centre.
  • You will be a people’s person with great listening skills and communication skills, highly motivational and able to think outside the box.
  •  Your leadership skills along with your analytical abilities will be evident and you will be able to lead effectively in a sometimes pressurised environment.
  • Experienced at working to very tight deadlines and KPI’s is a must!

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Overseeing the monthly catalogue production ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Catalogue stock management including the liaison with the suppliers and publishers
  • Working closely with the design and editing team
  • Recruitment for the customer service department
  • Management of the staffing levels in order to ensure exemplary customer care in peak times and to keep up with growth
  • Creation and implementation of new product knowledge initiatives
  • Managing the implementation of any new software
  • Designing and implementing ways to improve the customer service and increase the upselling and cross selling within the team.
  • Supporting the training function and performance and development of the teams
  • Monitoring and controlling the departmental KPI’s and the analysing, reporting and presentation of reports at meetings and to the Sales Manager and key stakeholders
  • Annual planning and budgeting for the departments
  • Issue resolution
  • Total support to the Sales Manager, as required and undertaking of other projects as and when the need arises.
