Experienced Executive Chair/Chief Executive – Part Time


  • Are you a Director/Chief Executive with a wealth of experience of materials development, in bio-materials, adhesives, medical devices or personal care products?
  • Have you gained extensive experience of early stage product development including the IP licensing strategy of product components?
  • Are you looking for a role that is working 2 to 3 days per week?

This dynamic, early stage Company is a spin out from Bristol University that has made pioneering strides in making peptides which can be used for a wealth of functions.

As an early stage technology business you will lead the team through to realisation of significant value.

All about you:

The Company is looking for your leadership and development skills and experience to make them a Company of value! The key emphasis will be on your significant board level experience and your mentoring ability.

You will lead the Company by being heavily involved in the business development strategy supporting the Company through the prospective selling of licences based upon technology IP and know-how, having the deep insight and expertise of the correct landscape, players and the opportunities it provides.

To carry out this role you will utilise your proven capability to inspire focus and trust and demonstrate your keen sense of opportunity and talent for negotiation.

You will be managing multiple projects across a broad spectrum. Therefore your management and leadership of the team will be critical to the success of the business.  

Main responsibilities will include:


  • The provision of leadership and strategic direction
  • Working with the management team to ensure the appropriate strategy and realisation of the business plan
  • Building the Company’s business development plan which will consider partnerships with global players and different licencing strategies and the closing on existing commercial opportunities for the business.
  • Leading the approach to licensing to ensure the winning of deals in the Company’s best interest
  • Development of a robust IP Strategy, ensuring the appropriate level of protection
  • Collaboration with the management team to drive corporate development which will include leading engagements with investments and fund raising exercises
  • Working closely with the board and management team to realise key objectives and ensure value for the shareholder
